How many teams are in PSL 2027? Eight. Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United, Multan Sultans, Hyderabad Kingsmen, Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators and Rawalpindiz will all play HBL PSL 12 from 18 March to 2 May 2027. PCB has not added any new team for 2027.
PSL 2027 Teams List
The PSL teams from 2026 to 2027 are unchanged, so the PSL teams 2027 list below is the same eight franchises that played last season.

A home ground is where a franchise is based, not a promise of home matches. In 2026 every game was played in Lahore and Karachi, and PCB will name the PSL 2027 venues with the fixtures.

How Many Teams in PSL 2027?
There are 8 teams in PSL 2027. The league has had eight teams since 2026, after six teams from 2018 to 2025 and five in the first two seasons.
PSL 2027 New Teams: Is the League Expanding?
There are no PSL 12 new teams, and no PSL 2027 new teams names to learn. The league grew from six to eight teams before PSL 2026, and that structure stays for PSL 12. Here is how the two "new" names came in, because the story is a little confusing:
- Expansion bids (January 2026): PCB announced Hyderabad and Sialkot as the two new cities. FKS Group won Hyderabad, and the team became the Hyderabad Kingsmen.
- The old Multan franchise was sold (February 2026): Walee Technologies bought it, moved it to Rawalpindi and renamed it Rawalpindiz.
- Sialkot became Multan (March 2026): CD Ventures took over the Sialkot franchise, and PCB approved moving it to Multan under the Multan Sultans name.
So the PSL 2027 teams list is identical to 2026. PCB has not announced plans for a ninth or tenth team.
PSL 2027 Teams Ranked by 2026 Form
Squads are not final, but last season gives a fair starting point for each PSL 2027 team:
- Peshawar Zalmi (champions): 8 wins from 10 in the league, the best batter (Babar Azam) and the best bowler (Sufiyan Muqeem) of the season. The team everyone has to beat.
- Islamabad United (2nd): strong league form but two playoff defeats. With three titles, they will want to finish the job this time.
- Multan Sultans (3rd): a new ownership group, a squad with Steve Smith and Sahibzada Farhan, and a top-three finish in the first season of the new setup.
- Hyderabad Kingsmen (runners-up): sneaked into the top four, then won two knockouts to reach the final in their first season.
- Lahore Qalandars (5th): missed the playoffs only on net run rate. A three-time champion that rarely stays down for long.
- Karachi Kings (6th): also finished on 10 points. Small improvements could lift them into the top four.
- Quetta Gladiators (7th): 3 wins from 10. The trade window and auction matter a lot for them.
- Rawalpindiz (8th): one win in their first season despite spending big on Naseem Shah and Daryl Mitchell. The most interesting rebuild of PSL 2027.
Which PSL Team Has Won the Most Titles?
Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars have won the most PSL titles, three each. Peshawar Zalmi have two, and Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans have one each. Hyderabad Kingsmen and Rawalpindiz are still waiting for their first. Full details are in the PSL winners list.
