PSL 2027 has not started yet, but fans are already asking about PSL 2028, the 13th edition of the Pakistan Super League. No dates have been announced for PSL 13, but a few important things are already known, and they make PSL 2027 a key season for every franchise.
When Will PSL 2028 Be Played? (PSL 2028 Schedule)
PCB has not announced a window or a PSL 2028 schedule for Pakistan Super League 2028 (PSL 13). The league has been played after Ramadan in 2025, 2026 and 2027. Ramadan 2028 is expected to fall in late January and February, so a post-Ramadan window in March and April 2028 would be possible, but nothing is confirmed.
A Grand Auction After PSL 12
The biggest change expected for the PSL next season after 2027 is a grand auction. According to the rules reported when the first PSL auction was introduced in 2026:
- Players bought in the 2026 auction signed two-year contracts, covering PSL 2026 and PSL 2027.
- After PSL 12, a grand auction is planned, and teams will be allowed to keep only five players.
That means many squads will be broken up and rebuilt for PSL 2028. Players will be playing PSL 2027 with their next contract in mind, and franchises will be deciding which five players are worth keeping.
Broadcast and Sponsorship
Walee Technologies holds the PSL broadcast rights in Pakistan until 2029, so PSL 2028 will be shown under the same rights deal. HBL's title sponsorship was extended to cover the 2026 and 2027 seasons, so the title sponsor for PSL 2028 is still to be decided.
Will There Be New Teams in PSL 2028?
PCB has not announced any further expansion. The league moved from six to eight teams in 2026, and the eight-team format continues in 2027. Any plan for more teams would be announced well before the PSL 2028 auction.
